The narrator of the novel. Gene is thoughtful but shows competitive tendencies. He obviously has an envious side to him based on the jealously he shows towards Phineas. Gene is uncomfortable with his own personality due to the fact he seems to want to forget his identy and become a part of Phineas. Based on Gene's decieving emotions he proves to be an unrelaible narrator.
